1916 American Volunteers in France use Indian Logo

1917  28th, 30th & 93rd Sqds activate, select logos & train in US built Jenny.

1918  28th. 30th & 93rd Sqds fight in France using French Spad III airplanes

1919  Return to US train in DH-4s and are deactivated

1923-1938

1923-1938  Events vs Time

1923 28th Sqd activated and sent to Clark Field Philippines

1927 19th Observation Group activated at Rockwell Fld CA, 7th BG at March Fld

1932-1938 Bases: Clark, Corregidor, Bataan, Panama, Ft Sill OK

1932 19th re-designated as Bomb Group with 30th and 93rd Sqds

1934 7th BG to Hamilton Fld, 19th BG to March Fld CA

(Rockwell Fld renamed Naval Air Station North Island San Diego CA.)

1935 train with B-10s – used to map west coast of US for the first time.

1937 train with B-18s (won procurement over B-17)

1938 train with B-17s (justified for Recon beyond coast artillery)

12-07-41  38th & 88th Recon arrive Hicham during Japanese attack.

Dec 9 (PI) When bombs fell by H. Murdoc

Dec 8 (PI)  Clark Fld, bombed  28th & 30th Sqd   15 B-17s destroyed.

Dec 9  14th & 93rd from Mindanao meter into Clark for bombs and fuel.

Dec 10 Kelly bombs Jap ship, attack & on fire near Clark, crew bails, Kelley dies.

Dec 10 British  Battleships at Singapore, Prince of Wales & Repulse Sunk.

Dec 12-16  cannot  defend Clark,  fly from Del Monte

Dec 17-18  19th moves 1,700 mi to Australia.

Dec 20-23 Fly missions from Batchelor Fld, Darwin, against Luzon & Mindanao.

Dec 24, Clark Fld abandoned, airmen to Bataan and Mindanao as infantry.
